On July 29, 2019, Fuse minted its first block with a simple belief: everyday finance should be open, transparent, and available to everyone.
At the time, blockchains were still far from being practical for daily use, and most people had never touched crypto. Fuse was built to change that by lowering barriers for entrepreneurs and communities to launch their own economies and making digital payments as seamless as possible.
Six years later, that mission has grown into real-world impact. The network now consistently processes 50,000+ daily transactions, supports 5M+ deployed contracts, and integrates with 200+ partners worldwide, all while staying true to the vision of putting the power of money into the hands of everyday people.
We’ve been quieter than usual these past months for deliberate focus. As migration plans evolved, we explored the rapid developments across both the L1 and L2 ecosystems since our last roadmap update, evaluating emerging rollup technologies, RaaS providers, and infrastructure partners to ensure we’re choosing the best long-term path for the community. As the ecosystem matured over the past year, we took the time to explore a full-state migration in depth and confirmed that upgrading Fuse in place is not only practical, but the best path forward.
Here’s what’s next.
TLDR
Fuse is entering its next phase with a migration to a modern stack. After six years of zero downtime, it’s time to upgrade and future-proof the infrastructure for the next decade of growth.
We are currently finalysing two options for the upgrade: migrating to the Arbitrum L2 stack or to the Avalanche L1 stack.
The final choice will be made together with validators, ensuring the path forward benefits users, builders, and token holders alike.
This upgrade resets the foundation of Fuse’s flywheel and introduces a new era of tokenomics designed to sustain, reward, and scale the network for the long term.
Alongside the migration, ecosystem products such as Solid (consumer yield and payments), Voltage (liquidity and governance), and Freedom World (social and NFT rewards) continue to grow, with new launches including Edison AI V2, and Lending planned for 2026.
The next chapter of Fuse sets the foundation for a faster, more efficient network built for real adoption at scale.
Why We’re Upgrading Now
The chain you know is reliable with 99.9% all-time uptime, but its stack is six years old. In 2025, the environment is finally right for a full-state migration: the technology is proven, infrastructure partners are mature, and the community is ready.
Fuse will perform this full-state upgrade because it’s better for users and token holders alike. It delivers a new-generation network without fragmenting liquidity or forcing users to migrate manually.
We are now evaluating two strategic options:
- Moving to an Arbitrum-based L2 stack, leveraging Ethereum’s security and established rollup tooling.
- Moving to an Avalanche L1 stack, offering modular performance and native subnet scalability.
The final decision will be made collaboratively with validators, ensuring the process is transparent, community-driven, and aligned with Fuse’s long-term vision.Whichever path is chosen, the outcome remains the same, a modernized Fuse that improves performance, efficiency, and sustainability while preserving continuity for every user and contract on-chain.
Migration Highlights (What Changes, What Doesn’t)
- In-place upgrade (full-state): Your balances, contracts, and history remain intact. The migration will unfold over several months, beginning with a testnet and validator alignment before mainnet launch. While blockers may arise, we’re confident this careful approach is the best path for the community.
- Target stack: We are currently evaluating both Arbitrum and Avalanche. The final decision will be made collaboratively with validators, who play a central role in securing the network and steering its direction. Our priority is to choose a stack that offers modularity, performance, and sustainability, capable of surpassing Solana-class throughput while maintaining Ethereum-level security.
- Privacy & practicality: Fuse has always emphasized real-world usability, compliant privacy, and the protection of user data. Following the upgrade, Fuse will be better positioned to integrate shielded transactions and privacy layers designed for on-chain banking, practical, compliant, and built for mass adoption through vertical integration across products.
- Timeline:Targeting approximately six months from partner finalization to full completion.
- Costs & ops: A modern rollup architecture makes Fuse faster, more efficient, and more cost-effective. It introduces stable RPCs, better scalability, and native support for services previously difficult to implement on the legacy stack, freeing more resources for product growth and developer tools.
- Bottom line:Fuse becomes a modern, high-performance network without disrupting users or developers. The first phase of the migration will focus on finalizing the stack together with our infrastructure partner and validator community, ensuring consensus and clarity from the start.
Solid: Our Consumer Growth Engine
Crypto doesn’t cross the chasm by talking to crypto alone. Solid is our consumer-facing app designed to bring new users and capital into Fuse:
- Stable yield, simplified: A clear, reliable entry point with auto-optimized and compounded returns. Users can track and anticipate exactly how much they’re earning, no micromanagement required.
- Everyday spending: A debit card directly connected to yield, turning digital dollars into real-world utility at millions of merchants.
- Friction removed: Account abstraction, gasless flows, and mobile-first UX make onboarding seamless.
Solid is a core driver in the Fuse flywheel, and we’ll soon share a separate deep-dive on how its revenue flows back into strengthening the network.
Voltage: Aligned Liquidity, Real Governance
On the DeFi side, Voltage continues to evolve for professional LPs:
- V4 concentrated liquidity (via Algebra) for efficient market-making.
- Gauges & bribes: veVOLT holders steer emissions; projects can attract votes to deepen liquidity where it matters.
- Protocol flywheel: Activity in Solid drives on-chain volume; protocol fees and flows strengthen the broader Fuse economy.
Every trade on Voltage and Solid feeds directly into the Fuse flywheel, and with our recent governance upgrades, LPs now take the lead in shaping how liquidity is directed across the network.
What This Means for You
- Builders: Keep building! Contracts and addresses remain the same post-migration.
With Fuse, you also get a unique business model: the first subscription-based, B2B2C blockchain. Instead of juggling multiple vendors and unpredictable costs, businesses pay a flat monthly fee that bundles operations, middleware, and infrastructure. This makes building scalable consumer apps practical, with Solid and Freedom serving as live examples of how it works in action. - Liquidity Providers & Protocols: A larger funnel via Solid means deeper, stickier liquidity.
Vote where emissions go, earn, and compound. Governance is the allocation engine. - Token Holders & Community: The upgrade is designed to enhance utility and longevity.
Expect clearer comms, regular updates, and the relaunch of our ambassador program to recognize and reward contributions.

Closing
Turning six isn’t about looking back. It’s about laying the foundation for the decade ahead.
Over the past six years, we’ve learned firsthand what it takes to make decentralization usable for everyday people. Being both an L1 and a consumer-facing protocol taught us the hard lessons of vertical integration: trial, error, and the experience needed to move beyond the glass ceilings that limit other solutions.
By moving to a scalable, next-generation stack designed to exceed Visa speeds and by expanding Solid’s reach, we’re aligning the core infrastructure and products for real adoption at global scale.
The path forward is a B2B2C blockchain that hides the heavy lifting under the hood, so mainstream users get the benefit without the complexity. If you’ve been with us since the early days, thank you for your patience and grit.
If you’re new, welcome. This is the best moment to start building on (and with) Fuse.
