Fuse and Pocket Network Take Collaboration to a New Level by Conducting a Token Swap

DApps operators using Pocket Network’s full node service need to stake POKT tokens to ensure access. The Fuse Foundation will exchange 750,000 FUSE for 250,000 POKT to broaden access to Pocket’s RPC call relay service for the Fuse ecosystem

Fuse Network recently became one the blockchain platforms officially supported by Pocket Network’s RPC call relay service. A public Pocket-powered RPC endpoint was made available for the decentralized applications (dApps) that run on Fuse.

Pocket Network’s native nodes help route users’ RPC calls to supported blockchains by running full nodes on the latter. They submit proof of their services to the Pocket protocol and get rewarded with POKT tokens in exchange for correctly executing relays.

DApps on supported blockchains can benefit significantly from Pocket nodes’ services as their operators do not need to run their own full nodes to ensure their users’ connectivity to the blockchain. By opting for Pocket’s solution, they can reduce costs and boost security and decentralization. In order to access this functionality, dApp operators need to stake an amount of POKT proportionate to the desired number of relays per hour.

The FUSE-POKT Token Swap

Since the announcement of the initial collaboration between Fuse and Pocket, millions of Fuse RPC calls have already begun routing on a daily basis. To further broaden access, the Fuse Foundation has conducted a token swap following a proposal on Pocket Network’s forum which led to a positive vote being passed by the Pocket Network DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization).

The token swap entails the exchange of 250,000 POKT for 750,000 FUSE. The Fuse Foundation will stake the POKT received on behalf of the Fuse ecosystem, which will double the current Pocket relay capacity for dApps on Fuse.

The Pocket DAO will stake the FUSE obtained via the swap to deploy a validator node on Fuse Network. This will help drive cross-participation between the two communities.

The Fuse team is very happy with how this collaboration, with a leading blockchain infrastructure provider, has progressed. We believe that it enables us to remove one of the last remaining hurdles to achieving robust network decentralization.
