This week, we hosted a live AMA on Telegram to share key updates on Fuse’s latest progress from the Fuse Ember testnet and builder grants to upcoming DeFi products and ecosystem-wide security upgrades.
If you missed it, here’s a full recap with everything you need to know:
🔧 The Fuse Ember Testnet & Road to Mainnet
The Fuse Ember testnet is now live, bringing a new zkEVM Layer 2 experience powered by Polygon CDK, with infrastructure from Avail and QuickNode. The mainnet launch is expected in May 2024.
Fuse Ember is unique not only in its technology stack but also in the way we’re rethinking blockchain access. It’s the first chain of its kind to combine:
- Modular data availability with Avail.
- Fast and reliable infra via QuickNode.
- A subscription-based blockspace model, replacing unpredictable gas fees with flat monthly pricing.
As we approach mainnet, stability is our top priority. This is not a minor upgrade but a full migration of the Fuse network from L1 to L2. The transition includes new infrastructure, governance, and tooling — all designed for real-world adoption.
🔁 L1 & Migration Plans
Fuse’s original L1 will remain operational alongside the new L2. With over 5 years of uptime and a robust foundation, it continues to serve many active projects and users.
However, governance is evolving. Fuse Ember will introduce token-based staking, giving more power to FUSE holders, in contrast to the validator-driven model on L1. The initial token migration to L2 will be 1:1, but we are exploring new tokenomics to introduce locking incentives and potentially enhanced yield mechanisms.
More updates on the migration process, staking, and token mechanics will be shared in the coming weeks.
🧑💻 Builder Grants Program Now Live
To support the Fuse Ember ecosystem, we’ve launched the 20 million FUSE Builder Grants Program, aimed at attracting innovative teams building real value.
Grants are open to projects in areas like payments, stablecoins, DeFi, gaming, AI, tooling, and more. Importantly, rewards are based on impact — not hype. Teams will earn retroactive grants based on product usage and user engagement.
Whether you’re migrating an existing dApp or starting something new, this is a unique opportunity to join the Fuse network early and grow with it.

🧠 Console Upgrades & Edison AI Launch
We’ve revamped the Fuse Console, the primary dashboard for building and managing Web3 operations on Fuse. This includes the launch of a new billing system and the introduction of Edison AI — your personal, no-code Web3 assistant.
With the new subscription model, developers and businesses can now pay a flat $50/month for 1M transactions, RPC calls, subgraph queries, and webhooks. It’s predictable, affordable, and built to scale real-world applications.
Edison AI lives inside the console and helps builders automate tasks, deploy smart contracts, and integrate blockchain workflows — all via simple conversation.

💸 Voltage Lending Is Coming
The next step in Fuse’s DeFi evolution is here: Voltage Finance is launching its lending platform, built on a simplified fork of Aave v3.
At launch, ETH and USDC markets will be available, with a clean UI, limited caps for safety, and a focus on community feedback. The product is being released in beta and will grow alongside user needs.
This is just the beginning — a yield aggregator product is also in development, along with a credit card integration for real-world crypto spending.
🔐 Security Upgrades with a Leading Partner
Security has always been a top priority, and we’re about to take it to the next level. We’ve partnered with a top global cybersecurity firm (announcement coming next week) to integrate a real-time, network-wide protection layer across the Fuse stack.
Unlike traditional smart contract firewalls, this solution operates at the RPC layer — scanning and blocking malicious transactions before they’re written to the blockchain. It’s a first-of-its-kind defense system designed for high-assurance environments.
Stay tuned for the full announcement next week.
🌍 Real-World Adoption: Freedom World Growth
The Freedom World app, built on Fuse, continues to gain traction as a real-world commerce and community platform:
- Over 10,000 players in its geo-based mobile game “The Scape”.
- 4x user growth since early 2024.
- More than 1,000 merchants and business partners.
- Active incentives funded by Tether and soon by Fuse.
This week, we are also kicking off a community campaign inside the app. If you haven’t joined yet, visit freedom.world/fuse and experience what Web3 feels like in real life.
🙋 Community Q&A Highlights
During the AMA, we also took time to answer community questions. Here are a few takeaways:
Q: What’s the plan for marketing and engagement?
We’re prioritizing product readiness and organic growth. Once the new DeFi and L2 stack is live, community activation and promotion will scale accordingly.
Q: Will the L1 be shut down?
No. It will remain operational and serve as part of our multi-chain architecture. Governance decisions will determine any future changes.
Q: Will FUSE be migrated 1:1 to L2?
Yes — but we’re also exploring advanced tokenomics, including yield incentives and lock-ups.
Q: What’s the future of community involvement?
We’re focusing less on airdrops, more on meaningful feedback loops. Community suggestions and grassroots initiatives are welcome.
🔮 What’s Coming Next?
