Existing Micro-Economies Powered by Fuse
Let’s take a look at some of these exciting projects :
Wikibank — Wikibank is a local organization in Seville, Spain, transforming the way people make donations. Anyone can go to the Wikibank web and donate money. The funds are sent directly to people in need to their Fuse wallet. Since all transactions are tracked on-chain, donors can see exactly where their funds are being sent giving donations a new level of transparency. People who receive these donations can then go use them at numerous different shops around Seville, Spain by simply scanning a barcode with the Fuse wallet. This simple and seamless model, allows donors to help those in need in an honest and transparent way while supporting local shops trade in the neighborhood. Wikibank is in the process of adding thousands of local merchants to further enhance this important micro-economy.

GoodDollar — The GoodDollar project is a revolutionary non-profit initiative that is determined to create a sustainable and scalable framework for bringing global universal basic income (UBI) to the world. The GoodDollar economy consists of two parties, supporters, and claimants. Supporters wishing to aid the cause can invest in the community with their funds, convert fiat to G$ coins and earn interest in return which is generated through an interest generating DeFi protocol. The invested funds are locked in the “Good reserve”, accrue interest which is used to distribute the capital among the claimants. GoodDollar users are able to claim, send, and receive their UBI via a digital wallet powered by the Fuse network.

Digital Rand — The Digital Rand stablecoin (DZAR), is an exciting project from Johannesburg, South Africa, building a new ERC-20 compliant stablecoin on the Ethereum chain. DZAR stablecoin is a non-volatile crypto asset whose value is backed by the value of the fiat South African Rand in a 1:1 ratio. Using the DZAR digital wallet which is now available now on App Store and Google Play users can send and receive payments and trade DZAR with other digital assets. The project aims to provide users in South Africa with an easier and safer way to store, transfer, and exchange digital assets without being exposed to price fluctuations and difficulties onboarding.

Using this wallet, users can receive PPP, send it to friends, or discover places to shop around the island. The program is operated by PayWise, a local payment provider in Trinidad.
