Fuse Weekly Update #2

(14.09.20–18.09.20)

Hello Fuse community! In this week’s update, we bring you the highlights discussed in this week’s AMA hosted by Fuse CEO Mark Smargon and some more exciting updates!

Sunday’s AMA Highlights

  • Covering current goals at Fuse — deep-diving into the user journey, expansion in Europe, South America and Africa. Mark showcased some of the live use-cases built on Fuse, namely PayWise in Trinidad, Wikibank in Spain, Digital Rand in SA, Seedbed & GoodDollar in Israel, Roost in UK, and Banexcoin in Peru. (5:02 YouTube)
  • New network feature underway — Fuse Swap, a fork of Uniswap, is under development to bring deep liquidity to the Fuse network. Using the bridge, users will be able to convert between any two Fuse tokens instantly and without the need of a buyer or a seller. This development should bring more liquidity providers, transactions, and token holders to Fuse. (25:00 YouTube)
  • Roadmap — covering Fuse goals for the next 2–3 years. Mark explains the importance of focusing on the long-tail acquisition of users of the open-source technology with tangible goals of reaching 1 million USD locked, 1 million transactions per day with 1000 launched micro-economies, and reaching parts of the world with undeveloped financial infrastructure within the next 2–3 years. (36:41 YouTube)
  • Setting up network limits — Mark elaborates on the reasoning behind setting up a max limit of active validators with an aim of maintaining between 10 and 70 active validators to sustain low operating costs of the bridge operations. (41:47 YouTube)
  • Launching a new bridge called AMB (arbitrary message bridge) — announcing a new bridge supporting not only ERC20 tokens but also the FUSE token, saving cost on gas, improving the speed of launching economies, and showing real total value locked in Fuse. (44:50 YouTube)
  • New explorer v3 — showcasing the new explorer v3 featuring new token ownership data, token holders percentage, access information from contracts, mined blocks, along with general improvements on speed and data accuracy of the explorer. (49:56 YouTube)
