Mystic Valley Festival Implements Cashless Payments with Fuse.

Mystic Valley Festival, one of Thailand’s leading music events, with a previous attendance of over 10,000 people, is planning to safeguard their audience at their upcoming event by deploying Fuse’s open-source payment technology stack.

Event organizers worldwide are looking into new ways of maintaining public health to reopen safely and sustainably. Integrating contactless Web3 payments is now a highly effective way of battling the problem.

The organizers of Mystic Valley were looking for a cost-effective way to manage payments between vendors of food, drinks, merchandise, and activities during the 3-day event in Khao Yai from 27–29 November 2020. Using the Fuse Studio, they were quickly able to conceive of how a solution could be put in place after minting a customized token and launching a community wallet to manage transactions.

The solution is being implemented with Bitazza, a local digital asset platform. Here’s how it works:

MYST Used to Buy Food and drinks.
  • Attendees scan a QR code on arriving at the event to download the mobile wallet on iOS or Android automatically.
  • Thai Bhat is exchanged for Mystic (MYST) tokens and made available immediately within the wallet.
  • Each vendor has a QR code for festival-goers to scan and pay directly, with a notification sent in real-time confirming the transaction.

Attendees can exchange MYST using the wallet, creating a community around the token, an impossible feature with other festival-focused payment solutions on the market.

Cashless Festival Payments — a Growing Trend

Eliminating the need for cash at festivals and other similar events has been a focus for several years. It responds to public health-related issues during COVID-19 and makes for a much more enjoyable experience for the user by simplifying the interaction with vendors. Digital payments have been shown to increase revenue by upwards of 15%, thanks to decreased waiting times. It also eliminates security issues and worries about theft due to cash not being held on-site.

Reviving Thailand’s Vibrant Festival Scene

Thailand’s music festival scene is being revived. Mystic Valley will occur at the Mountain Creek Golf Resort in Khao Yai, 3 hours outside Bangkok. There will be 8 stages covering various music genres, from EDM, trance, techno, house, drum and bass, trap, and disco.
